so be sure to pick up the travel brochure at the Centre.
Seeing the snow on Oct. 21 must have made us realize that summer is gone and perhaps even our beautiful fall, which had such vivid colours this year.
There is one more event I would like to draw your attention to, and that is the Seniors Driving Presentation at the Ruth Clarke Centre Nov. 7, at 11 a. m. This is one presentation that all senior drivers should attend.
Show on Monday, Nov. 10. It will be held upstairs from 2 to 3 p. m. Tickets are $2. Refreshments will be served after the entertainment. We certainly enjoyed their acts about two years ago, when they provided entertainment at our Christmas dinner. I admit I am quite jealous of this group, as I feel our own seniors have talent but it appears they want to hide it. What a shame!
If you seniors would like to relive a few of those old times, drop into the Ruth Clarke Centre Oct. 31 after 1 p. m. and relive some of the fun we had quite some time ago for many of us. Yes, Ruth Clarke Centre is having a Halloween party from 1 to 3 p. m. There will be numerous games and, of course. the Grand March where all who are in costume are sure to win a prize. It was great fun last year, and I'm sure it will be even better this time. Each person will get a goody, so I'm told.
I just mentioned that wonderful season which will also soon be here Christmas. Yes, our annual Christmas dinner will be held November 21 at the Odd Fellows Hall, located on County Road 28. Sorry folks, I hate being the bearer of bad news, but all of the tickets have been sold. As a member of the executive, I feel badly that this happened, but I guess we all know that the Odd Fellows Hall puts on one of the best dinners I know of Le Coq Sportif R900 Grey in town.
Snow brings a message
Fun at the Ruth Clarke Centre will continue with the Wilmot Creek Seniors Variety
Ruth Clarke continues to promote trips all year long. A few that I have enjoyed in the past and that are being offered again are Branson (Nov. 21 to 30), Famous People Players Christmas (Nov. 27 a really, really good meal with entertainment and service that was the best I have ever seen) and Naughty Robin Hood in Stirling on Dec. 3. The shows offered in Stirling at this time each year will make some people blush, but everyone is also laughing. Of course, before you get to the theatre, you stop at Chubbies, another great eating place. All the foods here are home made and oh so good. There are many other trips, Le Coq Sportif Eclat W
This year we changed our time from an evening meal to a dinner that will be served at noon. This dinner is special, as a few of us have been working on getting all of our 90 plus members out to it. Pictures of these special members will be shown and later hung at the Ruth Clarke Centre. In this way, hopefully, others will get a chance to see, meet and greet them.
the games. I was quite ashamed of myself for not asking sooner, as they informed me that they had won the gold medal in shuffleboard. Believe me, winning gold at any sport at these games is not an easy feat. I know, since I too have competed in these games in the past, and my partner (husband) and I did not win or even come close. Congratulations to Graham and Isobel, you make us mighty proud. A couple from Roseneath placed third in their event, but I am sorry I do not know their names. May more of our local members continue wining at the Senior Games in 2010.
I made a big mistake in the last column that I wrote. Several of our seniors competed in the Senior Games in London last August. A few weeks ago, I asked Graham and Isobel Foster how they had done at Fila Shoes Black And Pink
We always know when Halloween is near, because that is when we tend to get miserable weather. I'm sure many of you recall a cold, rainy night when you went out trick or treating. I sure do. Back then you looked forward going to our school principal's home, where you sat and Mr. Smith and his wife would guess who you were. Then you were served fresh cider and, before you left, you received homemade chocolate fudge or maple cream fudge, which was my favourite. Other homes would give you candy apples, which I disliked as they always made a mess of the candy kisses which were popular back in the good old days. How times Supra Shoes London Store
